Congressman Daines Meets with Huntley Student in DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Daines today met with a group of 21 Montana students who were in Washington, D.C. for the Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association Youth Tour.

“It’s encouraging to see young Montanans learning about important issues that are an integral part of Montana’s economy and quality of life, like rural electrification,” Daines said. “It was great to visit with these students during their visit to the Capitol.”

The group of students included Justin Grantham from Huntley.

The Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association hosts a Youth Tour every year in Washington, D.C. to educate youth on all aspects of rural electrification in order to promote a better understanding of the value of rural electric cooperatives.  The trip provides an opportunity for youth to visit monuments, government buildings and cooperative-related organizations in order to become familiar with the historical and political environment of the nation’s capital.
